There is just so much Spider-Man Homecoming news, we thought we would do it all in one post.
First off, let’s discuss something kind of cool that was revealed yesterday. We learned that Captain America: Civil War was not the first time Peter Parker appeared in this Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nope, he had a cameo in Iron Man 2...can you guess it?
Remember the kid with the Iron Man mask, who the almost got torched by one of Justin Hammer’s drones near the end?
Yup, the kid being saved in the nick of time by Iron Man was little Peter Parker!
Tom Holland himself confirmed the news:
“I can confirm that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool,” he added. “I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.
Miles Morales Confirmed to Exist in the MCU
Perhaps the biggest news to us was that Kevin Feige has CONFIRMED Miles Morales exists in the MCU. Although, we know Donald Glover is playing Prowler and he is Miles uncle, we just got confirmation that Miles is around and the possibility of seeing him may be greater than we thought.
“All of those little things are just Easter eggs for fans until they’re something more than that. But anything that’s happened in the books is potential material for us. In the meantime, I think Miles is a big part of the animated movie that Sony’s making. But where we go … we definitely want you to go “He’s there. He’s there somewhere.'”
Not to worry Feige, Seppin always knew Miles was out there somewhere and he firmly believes we will be seeing him soon. Tom Holland certainty seems on board. Here is what the current web-slinger had to say on mentoring young Morales in an upcoming movie:
“That would be something that I would be very up for doing, it’s something that I would really, really hope to happen. I think Miles Morales is a great character, I think it would be fantastic to have an actor of color playing a superhero on screen and I just think it’s going to be something very cool and something very exciting for this universe.”
Spidey will only cameo in Avengers: Infinity War
Don’t get your hopes up for seeing a lot of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War. The web slinger will only have a short cameo, much like his Captain America: Civil War cameo.
Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Spidey will only be in the movie for a few minutes:
“I think it might feel bigger a little bit because of Homecoming and because of what people know from it, but it’s about on par with [Civil War],” he revealed
Spider-Man Homecoming Opens July 7, 2017…which, is next Friday!
