With the Cloak of Levitation by his side, Seppin will now review Doctor Strange #4 by Mark Waid.

As soon as Marvel announced that Mark Waid was writing Doctor Strange, I knew that this book was going to suit him well. After all, Mark Waid does a great job writing the character. He probably knows Stephen Strange better than anyone in that building.
However, when I started reading this book, I was confused. Mark Waid started off by taking away Stephen’s magical prowess and forced the Sorcerer Supreme to search for the Dark arts once again. Eventually Stephen decided to fly to space and study other planet’s magic. Now he is travelling with an arcanologist to many planets so that He can relearn how to use magic.
Now that you’re caught up with Mark’s run, I want to bring up some of my opinion on this issue. As usual, Mark Waid does a great job of focusing on Dr. Strange’s arrogance. This is actually used as the reason why he can’t access his magic so easily. The issue focuses on a Dwarf of Nidavellir, who teaches him how to make his own magical tools.
Overall, it is a strong Doctor Strange issue and helps further the plot.
