It looks like Zendaya’s role in Spider-Man: Homecoming may have been revealed, after months of speculation, the 19-year-old Disney Channel star will play the role of Mary Jane Watson, according to a report published Thursday afternoon by The Wrap, citing “two individuals with knowledge of the project.”
The Wrap also reports that “one recent draft of the script has Zendaya’s character dropping several clues to her identity as Mary Jane.” Zendaya was originally announced as playing a character named Michelle when first reported as part of the film back in March. Her specific role has not been officially confirmed by Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios or Zendaya herself.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
