Top Five Harry Potter Spinoff Stories We Actually Want To See

Hey everyone! MSR here. As some of our loyal readers know, I am a big Harry Potter fan a.k.a. Potterhead. I have enjoyed Fantastic Beasts, but it is not the direction I would have gone. I actually like Newt Scamander and I am intrigued by the next installment, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Every fan of Harry Potter has always longed to see this epic battle that occurred between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. It’s legendary and has been referenced since the very first book, The Sorcerers Stone.

However, there are other stories which I would be interested in seeing either on the big screen or as a series. It has been rumored for a while that a Harry Potter inspired series is coming to HBOMax, but so far, the details have been scarce.

So, if you’re reading HBOMax execs, this is what I would like to see…

5. Ministry Of Magic

I thought about this, longer than I care to admit, but what about the everyday life of the ministry workers? The aurors, the people who work in the Department of Mysteries… what are they doing? What do they come up against on a daily basis? What threats do they face?

I think it could be an interesting mini-series.

4. Diagon Alley/ Knockturn Alley

You may think I’m reaching here, but how engrossing would it be to see the day-to-day life of the shopkeepers of Diagon Alley and also the dark, sketchy Knockturn Alley. Just imagine the witches and wizards who pass through these places and the drama which occurs.

It could be like a Harry Potter soap opera!

3. Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the American wizarding school, located on Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. It accepts students from all over North America. Students of this school, as at Hogwarts in Scotland, are sorted into four houses. Each named a house after their favorite magical creature: Horned Serpent (Isolt), Wampus (Webster), Thunderbird (Chadwick) and Pukwudgie (James).

I think it would be fascinating to set a series in America. I think a modern day American version spin-off of Harry Potter would be amazing. You can have their own sort of Diagon Alley set in Salem, Mass or Boston. You could do so much and it would be a shame not to go down this path.

2. Original Founders of Hogwarts

Rumor has it this is what might be developed into a series and I am all for it. The original founders are Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slithering. Where are these famous witches and wizards from? How did they come together? Why is Gryffindor known to be so brave? Why is Rowena Ravenclaw so smart and clever? Why is Salazar Slithering known for producing wizards who are drawn to dark magic?

Who are they?

I want to know.

1. Original Order of the Phoenix

I don’t think there is any Harry Potter fan who does not want to know how the original order was formed and just how dangerous it was for these brave witches and wizards. The famous prophecy speaks of two boys who were born to parents who thrice defied Voldemort. How did James and Lily Potter defeat him three times? How did the Longbottom’s defeat him three times? What was Dumbledore doing? What about other lesser known members of the order? Why did Regulus Black turn against the Dark Lord?

These are questions I need answers too and these are things I want to see!

What are your thoughts? Do you have any ideas on what should be the next big continuation of Harry Potter?
