Oscar winner Brie Larson is the current front runner to play Captain Marvel in the upcoming Marvel film, reports Variety magazine. Sources have told the entertainment publication that Larson is the studio’s first choice and that she’s leaning towards taking the role.
Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, is an air force pilot who, following an accident, has her DNA fused with an alien, granting her super strength, energy projection and flight.
No director is on board yet and while it was rumored to be released in 2018, new reports suggest that it may be pushed back even further. We can assume that Captain Marvel is part of phase three and we are actually looking forward to seeing what they do with this movie.
