In a little over a month, we will be transported back to the wizarding world with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In anticipation of the movie, all eight films in the “Harry Potter” franchise will screen in IMAX 2D in select IMAX theaters for the week of Oct, 13, along with special footage and features from “Fantastic Beasts.”
It’s up to viewers to choose just how much Hogwarts they want in a single go. A single ticket will get you into one showing; Day Access grants admittance to three or more shows in one day; Four-Show access grants admittance to four films at any time, on any day; and for the real Potterheads, Festival Access grants unlimited admittance throughout the event. The specific pricing and packages are subject to location.
The “Harry Potter” IMAX event is part of a planned Global Fan Event, which kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT. All eight films in the blockbuster series will be available, including “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” both of which have never before been available in the IMAX format or released in IMAX theaters. At select theaters, the event will also include never-before-seen footage from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” messages from Eddie Redymane and other cast members, and a reel from the Global Fan Event.
Attendees at the IMAX locations in London and Los Angeles can also catch in-person appearances and Q&A from the cast the night of Oct. 13. Actors Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler, and director David Yates will appear in London, while actors Colin Farrell and Jon Voight will make an appearance in Los Angeles. Full details are available on the IMAX website.
