This weekend several sites decided to use click bait articles about Laurence Fishburne and why he was not in going to appear in Justice League. There were actually well-respected sites that had articles titled ‘Laurence Fishbourne won’t appear in Justice League because he thinks it’s going to be awful like Batman v Superman’…
Yeah, seriously.
So, what’s the real reason why he won’t appear and did he just drop a hint, or are we reaching?
“They asked me to come for a day, but I couldn’t work it out, schedule-wise,” the actor explained. “And really, what do you need the newspaperman in Justice League for? You want to see the Flash. You want to see Aquaman. You want to see Wonder Woman. You want to see the Lantern.”
We want to see Lantern??? Did he just say that?
On Marvel vs. DC: “We’ve been waiting 35 years for these [characters] to show up on the screen. What were they doing over there? Marvel has been kicking their ass. This is the comic-book geek in me, who has a collection of comic books. I’ve been waiting to see these people on-screen forever.”
He’s not wrong in that aspect. Marvel has a jump on DC by several years, but he did not say they were better or put DC down…SMH. You can like both, it’s okay.
On Batman v Superman Backlash: “Look, I love what Zack Snyder does. Jesse Eisenberg, this little nebbishy guy, as Lex Luthor? For me, that’s a genius move. And the whole thing with Martha Kent and Martha Wayne? I don’t know, man, I must be sentimental but that’s some heartwarming [stuff] to me. So I don’t get it.”
Sounds to us that he loved BvS, even the controversial Martha connection.
So, basically, he couldn’t fit in a cameo because he was working and he is looking forward to seeing Justice League. He thinks Marvel has done a great job and he’s excited to see the Justice League assembled on the big screen because he is a comic book fan.
That’s it. Stop click baiting. It’s annoying…much like the Marvel vs. DC fan boy fighting, and the sites that seem to want to perpetuate the arguing.
