Marvel’s New Warriors Coming to Television

The Warriors are coming…the warriors are coming.

Whoops, wrong warriors.

No, friends, Marvel’s New Warriors & reportedly Squirrel girl are coming to television. The show has actually been ordered as a 10-part, 30-minute live-action comedy at Freeform and  Kevin Biegel, is nearing a deal to write the script and serve as showrunner.

Doreen Green, AKA Squirrel Girl, will be a member of the roster along with 5 other unnamed characters. There have been several versions of The New Warriors in the comics over the years, so we don’t know yet who will be joining her.

The New Warriors will premier sometime next year.

They even have an official synopsis:

New Warriors revolves around about six young people with powers living and working together. With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of The Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world … even if the world isn’t ready. With Freeform focused on a group dubbed “becomers” — those experiencing a series of firsts in life including first loves and first jobs — New Warriors explores the journey into adulthood, except in this world, they’re not quite super and not yet heroes and the guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.

Now, Seppin isn’t a huge fan of the New Warriors. He doesn’t like how they basically make a reality show out of there lives and advertise themselves as superheroes. He still isn’t sure if they are going with that route, but he is willing to give it a shot.

Hopefully.
