Star Wars, Indiana Jones 5, & More Release Dates

Disney rolled out a ton of new release dates for several movies yesterday and we’re going to break down each one.

The biggest surprise was Star Wars: Episode IX. The scheduled release date is May 24, 2019. It’s a surprise because Disney has pretty much locked up Christmas for the Star Wars franchise and now they are going for the early summer blockbuster release.

Next up is Indiana Jones 5. The release date has changed from July 2019, to July 10, 2020. There is no other information on this movie except that it will be directed, of course, by Steven Spielberg and star veteran actor Harrison Ford.

And for those of you with little ones that are Frozen obsessed, we have some bad news for you. The sequel will be released November 27, 2019. So, you have a year and a half to save some money before the explosion of movie toys and various memorabilia is rolled out…just in time for the Holiday season.

How thoughtful of Disney.

Jon Favreau also tweeted that the live action adaptation of The Lion King will be released July 19, 2019.

2019 is going to be quite a year for Disney. In addition to all these movies announced, we also have Captain Marvel scheduled for March 8, 2019; the fourth Avengers film on May 3, 2019; and the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel on July 5, 2019. Additionally, Pixar’s Toy Story 4 is scheduled for June 21, 2019.
