We Deserve a Deadman Series!

This post may be coming out of left field for some of you readers. So, I will start this post explaining some background. If you are not aware, J.J. Abrams is developing a Justice League Dark team and series of shows for HBO Max. We have already heard announcements for John Constantine’s series, Zatanna’s series, and most recently a Madame Xanadu series!

Now dear reader, for any Justice League Dark fan, it should be clear what is wrong with this picture…

Where is our Deadman series?

Boston Brand is a key member of the team and a character with a cult following. In fact, I would say that he is a part of the Dark Trinity, (No, not Jason, Bizarro, and Artemis), but the trinity of John, Zatanna, and Deadman. I always felt like these three were the dark equivalent of DC’s trinity. This makes me ask the question as to why Madame Xanadu is getting a show announced before Deadman? It seems odd that the oracle-like character would be getting a show, but perhaps her series has been in the works for a lot longer. There might even be a Deadman series being talked about behind the scenes. We just don’t know. All that we do know is that Deadman does not have a series as of this date and that is disappointing.

I would argue that, after John Constantine and Zatanna, Deadman has the most potential for a series over any other member of Justice League Dark (Wonder woman does not count!). His story? Well he is a crooked acrobat that borrowed some money from the wrong people and it got him killed. Now he is forced to stay in the land of the living in an astral form to find his murderer. Come on, this show would be perfect as a series on HBO Max.

It is a crime drama where the murder that the main character is solving is his own. You can have cops, criminals, maybe another vigilante in the series to team up with.

So, if that sounds interesting to J.J. Abrams or anyone at Warner Bros that can get me in talks, I have a pitch for this show. And if you don’t want it, please just give me the show to watch and to review!

Thank you all for reading this little rant, but seriously. We deserve a Deadman on the team. He deserves his own show because it would be so good.
