Hey everyone! News is a bit slow today with the release of Marvel’s Shang-Chi in theatres this weekend, however; Jason Momoa has decided to tease fans for his upcoming sequel to 2018’s Aquaman. On his Instagram, the actor sent out an image where Arthur Curry is dressed in a brand new suit armored for the city beneath the deep, dark blue seas.
Check it out below!
This isn’t the first time the Protector of the Deep has changed his look. In the early 80s, artist Craig Hamilton designed Aquaman with a blue costume that has been reused many times through the years by other artists like Ivan Reis.
At the end of the first film, Arthur received his comics accurate costume and rode into battle with King Atlan’s Trident. Which, honestly, still looks pretty freaking awesome on the screen.
So, I suppose the question is why this new suit of armor? Is he venturing somewhere he needs more camouflaged gear? Does this armor provide a certain function on their next quest? We’ll just have to wait and see…
Still, we dig both suits a lot. The dark blue makes more sense if he’s heading into colder waters like the Arctic as we have already seen in the images we’ve been teased by director James Wan in the past.
What do you think about the new suit? What do you want to see in the sequel? Let us know in the comments below!
Until next time…
