Hey everyone! Bit of a busy news day today with all sorts of announcements coming out of the woodwork! Earlier today, in an interview with Deadline, it was revealed to gaming fans that New Line Cinema were going ahead with making a sequel to 2021’s Mortal Kombat film. Producer Todd Garner posted on Twitter a fiery announcement poster confirming the second film was in development.

Along with the sequel’s announcement, it was also reported that Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight) would be penning the movie’s script with the promise of exciting action for long-time fans.
Besides the literal plot armor character made for the first film, we at SeppinRek didn’t mind it. Perhaps because it is a video game adapted film and they have a lower standard, but it truly was a fun movie with gory action. And, honestly, that is all Mortal Kombat needs to be, right?
