Spiderman News

Spiderman: Homecoming

It’s official. We reported a few weeks ago that there was a rumor going around that the new Spiderman movie would be called Spiderman: Homecoming and we were right. We here at SeppinRek are not entirely on board with this title and as of right now we have no idea what this movie is going to be about. We did find a Spiderman comic that has the title Homecoming in it, but we are pretty sure that is not the direction they are going in because in this comic Peter is wearing his black suit.

Release Date

As of right now, Sony has a date and it’s for July 7, 2017.

We’re not going to lie. The release date has us worried since we hope that they are not rushing to put this movie out. Sony does not have a good track record with Spiderman. Their first efforts are always good- Spiderman and The Amazing Spiderman- but they seem to falter at the sequels.

We kind of wish Disney could take the reins on this reboot.

Captain America Civil War

Seeing Spiderman in the Captain America Civil War trailer was awesome! Let’s be honest, they absolutely had to have Spiderman in this movie. He has a pivotal role in Civil War and even though we do not think this movie is going to be comic book cannon ( as most Marvel movies aren’t) they still had to have him in this film.

The negotiations that went on behind the scenes must have been quite a sight and would probably make for a great documentary.

Tom Holland- Peter Parker

Marisa Tomei- Aunt May

Marisa Tomei is a great actress who was very popular in the 1990’s. She kind of faded a bit, but we like that they are going for a younger Aunt May in this movie.

Laura Harrier- Significant Role

Laura Herrier is listed as having a significant role, but not much else is known about her character in the movie. Love interest maybe?

Tony Revolori- Peter’s Friend ‘Manuel’

All we know right now is that he is Peter’s friend.

Zendaya- Important Role

Zendaya also has a mystery role. Zendaya’s character isn’t a lead, but she’s expected to become more important in future films. She’s apparently not a love interest.

Michael Keaton-Villain?

We heard rumors that Michael Keaton is in talks to play the the villain in Spiderman: Homecoming.

We are going to throw out our pick for a villain and we would like to see Vulture.

Here is his background from Marvel Wiki:

Adrian Toomes was an electrical engineer and inventor, which led him to co-found the small firm of Bestman and Toomes Electronics. His business partner, Gregory Bestman, saw to all administrative affairs. Toomes devoted the bulk of his time to his pet project: an electromagnetic harness that would enable its wearer to fly like a bird. However, this inattention to detail proved disastrous when it came to light that Bestman had been stealing Toomes’ share of the company.

Physically confronting Bestman, Toomes discovered that exposure to his electromagnetic harness had granted him superhuman strength. Still, he was unable to intimidate his opponent, and Bestman assumed full control of the company in the wake of his partner’s threats. Toomes found himself without legal recourse: On paper, at least, Bestman was the firm’s sole proprietor. Already an old man, Toomes retired to a farm in Staten Island on his meager savings. There, he continued to develop his flying harness. Realizing the potential for revenge afforded by his groundbreaking invention and new-found strength, Toomes created the costumed identity of the Vulture. He ransacked Bestman’s office, hoping to uncover incriminating evidence, then vandalized and robbed the plant after his search proved unsuccessful. Attracted by the easy rewards and thrill of thievery, the Vulture subsequently embarked on a career as a costumed criminal.

He was Spiderman’s second major villain that he faced (after Chameleon).

Possible Storylines

We believe that they are going to touch on Venom at some point since we know a Venom movie is going to be coming out.

We just want to see the black spider suit!
