In our ‘Let’s take this news with a grain of salt’, Slash Film is reporting that the Batman solo movie script is being scrapped and starting over from scratch.

We do know that the movie will probably be pushed back because of Matt Reeves commitments and has nothing to do with Ben Affleck’s refreshingly honest statement about treating his alcohol addiction.

Here is what the article written said in a nutshell:

We can now report that there is more going behind-the-scenes as well. According to sources close to the production, the screenplay for The Batman is being rewritten from the ground up, so it’s entirely possible that everything we’ve heard about the film’s story will no longer be in play.

There are numerous reasons we are questioning this. The first being that Affleck and Johns worked on this script together for over a year. We find it hard to believe that Johns would willingly let it be scrapped. The second, we also heard not a month ago that Chris Terrio (Justice League) had rewritten it a bit and the script was done after his polishing touch.

Now, it is entirely possible that Matt Reeves has his own take and wants to change it up a little. He is the director and directors do this all the time.

Basically, no one has a clue on what’s going on and Warner Bros. isn’t commenting, so everything is just speculation.

We trust Matt Reeves. We trust Ben Affleck and more importantly, we trust Geoff Johns. Let’s just give these guys a break and let them do their thing. It seems like every little aspect of the DCEU is being spun into some sort of soap opera and enough is enough.

Now, what we should be focusing on are these few things…

What is going on with The Flash movie?

Who is playing Green Lantern?

Who is going to play Nightwing?

Why does Henry Cavill keep trolling us Green Lantern fans?

And where the hell is the Justice League trailer????

Those are the questions we should be obsessing over!
