Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson had a few interesting things to say during an interview yesterday. He revealed that there is a big surprise in store for fans as it pertains to the big screen debut of Black Adam.
“It’s definitely going to happen, sure. We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out [their DC universe] really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.”
He goes on to talk about a potential face-off with Superman, which he also confirms is definitely “in the cards.”
The Rock also threw out another random idea which we know cannot get out of our heads. For a while now, we have been aware that Armie Hammer is playing someone in the DC Universe. With his constant teases on Twitter about Green Lantern, we were fairly confident that was the character he was going to portray, but then The Rock throws out this when asked about who should play his nemesis Shazam:
“I’m going to throw one name out here, and I want to see how the fans will react to this. A guy who I met, I went ‘Wow! That guy is such a cool guy! He is a lot bigger than I thought he would be’ and when I walked away, I remember telling our producer, who I have worked with for a long time, we both looked at each other and was like ‘Possibly Shazam?’ and we went ‘Yes’. I’m not even going to say his name, I’m just going to say Lone Ranger.”
We so did not see that coming and while this could be a clever way to distract us Green Lantern fans who are desperate for any news on a casting, we have to admit Hammer could be a great choice for Shazam.
