Hey everyone, it has been a while!
I felt like writing about some of the recent news that has come out. I wanted to express how I feel about the state of things. As my first post back, I am incredibly happy to see that the “Lanterns” show that we were told was in development has officially been greenlit for Max.
James Gunn dropped the news yesterday and announced that an 8-episode series is moving forward!
So, what do we know about this show?

Surprisingly, quite a lot! We know that it is going to focus on John Stewart, who will be a rookie in this installment, learning alongside the “Lantern Legend” Hal Jordan, who will presumably have some years under his belt.
The two intergalactic space cops are drawn to small town America to investigate a dark mysterious murder.
This is what we heard a while back with the Chapter 1 announcement but it is still a very interesting premise that reminds me of the Hard Travellin’ Hero days with Green Arrow.
Although we don’t know anymore about the story of the series, we know that it has a very big role to play in James Gunn’s overarching story.

We also know that Chris Mundy (Ozark) will act as a showrunner and executive producer for the series. Plus, Tom King and Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) will be producing and writing the show! Even though I am not always the biggest fan of Tom King, I still think he is one of the best writers of late and a powerhouse of DC Comics. I am so glad to see him be apart of a DC show. It makes me wonder what other comic writers are talking with DC Studios at the moment…
Damon Lindelof also killed it with the Watchmen series! I can’t wait to see what this team can accomplish together.
Overall, it is refreshing to hear more of these DC projects like Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Lanterns get the go ahead. It feels like we are getting the ball rolling on something new and I can’t be more happy with DC.
Thanks for reading!
