Seppin’s Review for the First Episode for Supergirl

Hey everyone, it’s time for yet another review. I think that I have given you all enough time to watch Supergirl, so this will have slight spoilers. Supergirl is a DC show on CBS that is supposed to connect to the CW universe. The reason why I say supposed to is because they have given mixed reviews on how or if it is connected with Arrow and Flash. I think what CBS wanted was a low-budget Superman; very similar to what they wanted with Arrow. So let’s get started. She is Superman’s cousin that was older when she left Krypton, but made an orbit around the Sun first later to find Kal had grown up before her. She eventually adopts the family business as Supergirl.

Let me start out by saying that I see a lot of potential with this show. I also really enjoy Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El. I think that she really brings out the character and rocks it through out the episode. She makes the show fun to watch. I think it has a vary familiar Flash feel to it. Now lets get the next best character, Jimmy Olsen. I want to start off by discussing the elephant in the room. I think that it is a great idea to change any character’s race, gender, or even their sexuality and I have no problem with making Jimmy Olsen African American.I actually really enjoy him in the show, he’s pretty funny.

Now let’s talk about Winn who is Kara’s awkward friend that really likes her. Stereotypical guy friend, but he’s kind of funny as well. Other than that it is pretty convenient that he is able to make her an awesome looking suit. Her step-sister Alex seems a bit weak, especially with the whole “I’ve actually been a secret agent hunting aliens behind your back”. Her and David Este don’t really seem like they can handle many more episodes without any improvement at least.

I have seen the second episode so I know that they do get better and I am informing you that the show does seem to have an upside. It’s like SUPER FUN. Sorry for the Terrible pun, but I’m being Super-Honest. Okay, I’m done. Finally let’s talk about Cat Grant, she seems like a cool character that they can just throw into any episode. I like that she has a need to discover Supergirl and get the latest news on her. She’s kind of like a one hit wonder pop star that is trying for a new song. other than that the effects aren’t anything crazy, but I wasn’t expecting much like when I first watched Flash. Give it a try some time, it will get better. I guarantee that.

See you soon
