Welcome back to this late edition of Wrecking Rek. Today I will be reviewing the comic Arrow: The Dark Archer.
I was happy that Seppin chose this for me to read instead of the usual garbage.
The comic takes place between season three and season four of the television show Arrow. It is written by John Barrowman who plays the villainous Malcolm Merlyn.
The story follows Ra’s Al Ghul in his adventures to Corto Maltese. The narrative begins with him being tied up as he is telling his story to his captor.
Malcolm was at a research facility trying to obtain some awesome tech. When he arrives at the laboratory, he is attacked, and he then barricades himself inside the lab with the head researcher and an old man with a poncho.
After that he ‘burrows’ himself deep within the mountains because attacking forces breach the lab. We also found out that Malcolm Merlyn is not actually Malcolm Merlyn…du duh dum.
His real name is Arthur King and he is being hunted by his old lover and their son. Apparently, Arthur thought he killed this chick, but she lived and she wants to make him suffer.
That pretty much sums up chapter one of the comic. I can’t wait for the next couple because it was enjoyable to read and any fan of Arrow must read this different take on our favorite villain.
