Justice League News Galore

Yesterday was unofficial Justice League day! There was a plethora of information that came out from Empire magazine and also another slight merchandise spoiler.

So, let’s break it down…

First of all, we were treated to a short behind the scenes look with the cast. Check it out below!

They also discussed the departure of Zack Snyder and working with Joss Whedon:

Ben Affleck“I didn’t sense that we were moving towards something that felt like The Avengers. Joss is more than just an Avengers director. He’s a good storyteller, full stop. In mid-stream, Joss got on and part of what interested him was the puzzle aspect of it, fitting in pieces that weren’t there yet. He put the rest of the pieces in and gave it his own imprimatur. Joss came in and walked a very fine line between Zack’s sensibility, tone, and direction. We found a really fun and inspiring synthesis of their two forms of storytelling. I was so glad everyone showed up to work for Zack.”

Gal GadotThis is Zack Snyder’s movie. Joss only did a few weeks of reshoots. He was Zack’s guy and knew exactly what he wanted to get. He has a beautiful vision.

Jason Momoa: “I [frick]ing love Zack, man. I’d do anything for him.”

Ezra Miller: It’s a heroic act at its route. He called each and every one of us and took the time to explain something that defies, in many ways, explanation. He told us exactly how it was going to go down, which was true to course. He fascinates and amazes and staggers me. Zack Snyder, ultimate [frick]ing legend. Forever.”

Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa also talked about the film’s diversity.

Ray Fisher: “DC’s going to be changing the name to Diversity Comics pretty soon. You’re dealing with the only member of the Justice League who is African-American. You’re dealing with the only member of the Justice League who is in some ways what some would consider disabled. You don’t want to end up telling a story that isn’t respectful of those factors. But he’s going to be cool as hell.”

Jason Momoa: He’s white with blond hair, but Zack had a vision. The fact that Aquaman is a brown-skinned superhero, I’m pretty stoked about that. I love being able to set the tone.”

And what about mustache gate with Henry Cavill…

“It was a full-on porn star mustache. He looked like a porn star from the ’70s, just with a better body. It’s a different twist on Superman,” joked Ben Affleck.

Now onto a slight spoiler with a little help from merchandise giant New Era…

The description reads as follows:

Based on Superman’s newly-resurrected appearance in the hit film, ‘Justice League.’

Our Superman Black Armor Justice League 39Thirty Fitted Hat is based on Superman’s costume post-death:

A black variation of the Superman suit adorned during his time in the regeneration matrix, a Kryptonian chamber that reversed the previously lethal effects of his protracted punch-em-up with Doomsday.

In the film Justice League, it seems Superman’s cinematic resurrection will parallel the hit comic story, considering he returns in a stylish black costume soon after a very tense fight with Doomsday.

Now, one thing to note. The company can write anything they want for a description of the product they are selling, so this may have not been done with Warner Bros. consent or it may not even be an official description.

Of course Henry Cavill, our favorite troll, did post this…

So there you have it. With only 45 days to go, we expect marketing to be in full throttle mode over the next month and we are now just waiting on the final trailer which could be released this week!
